Your Move estate agents has announced the appointment of well-known industry figure Eric Walker as regional managing director for its South-East division.

Walker, who was managing director of Bushells in London until its sale last year, joins Your Move with more than 20 years’ experience in sales, lettings, development, investment and property management.

He worked for a number of corporate agents before in 1997 joining Alex Neil in London where he rose from branch manager to board director. He then headed Bushells until its acquisition last July by Edmund Cude.

In his new role Walker succeeds Oliver Blake, who took on the role of managing director for Your Move’s sister company, Reeds Rains, in January, replacing Nigel Favas who, with local partners, has acquired the Reeds Rains master franchise for Northern Ireland.

Walker said: “I am very excited about joining Your Move, especially in view of their vision for the future and following the impressive development of the brand in recent years. I know this is a great opportunity to apply the wide-ranging skills I have gathered over the years and one I am truly looking forward to.”

Helen Woodhouse, managing director for Your Move, said: “I’m delighted to be welcoming Eric to Your Move and feel confident that his vast industry experience will be an invaluable addition to our already strong management team.

“Whilst his key focus will be to drive sales and lettings, his obvious enthusiasm and commitment to ‘be the best’ and to provide excellent customer service sits perfectly with Your Move’s business strategy, and I know he will be well placed to champion our cause in the South-East.”

When I first met Eric I really didn't like him for a number of reasons. I really felt his ideas and principles were just talk. I was wrong. He was sincere and did everything he promised.

He isn't easy - but he is as straight as they come and bloody clever. His mind is bizarre and full of useless trivia - but he is bloody good fun to work with and looks after his team.

EW is a legend!! We worked in Docklands together and he is just the best. Grumpy, short fuse, never unforgiving but you just know when the sh1t hits, he will be there. A truly good man and great - sorry - 'immense' leader. I hate your move - but would work for Ew in a heartbeat. (Hint)

Eric is a rate thing. He is lovely but can bite - hard. Always fair and honest but God help anyone who wants to take him on. I was at Bushells when it was broken. He fixed it. It's a poorer place without him and nearly everyone has left Good luck boss. Call me if you have a job!!

Hey - great news. EW is back in the game!! I loved my time with him in Docklands. We had so much fun and were the boys!! I hope the new team enjoy it - it will be different. Top tip - don't ever laugh at his jokes - it will only encourage him. Top tip. If you ever have a problem - tell him. He will help. Unless you are Welsh!!

There are few natural leaders who do it so nicely. Having worked with Eric, he is as genuine as he seems - brutally honest and always fair. He looks after people and knows his stuff. An honourable chap. Good luck.

One of THE nicest most genuine people I have ever crossed swords with. I don't recommend it mind - but we became friends and he has helped me loads since. Good luck 'old boy'

One thing is for sure. They won't have had an RMD like Eric before. If they expect someone to sit in an office and number crunch they will be surprised. He loves problems - so he is going to the right place ;)

I worked with EW in Docklands. It was an experience! He is a top bloke who really gets the best out of people and gives them belief and support. He can be bloody hard when crossed - but is always very fair and always honest. It was a lot of fun working with him - but no thanks to his constant relentless 'humour'!

Good luck EW. I am sure your style will be welcomed - once they get used to your humour. You are still the best boss I ever had - I wish you all the best.

Your move as a company has huge potential, with some great locations. However as a brand - it is appalling, that is where the work is required. There are not many high street comapanies out there with 300 or so high street branches - yet most of the general public have never heard of them and those that have see a low rent, out dated brand. Good luck Eric, get a decent marketing team on board though

Nice to hear that Eric Walker didn't spend too much time on the rugby field and gave Your Move the opportunity to grab him with both hands. If he can do for Your Move what he has done for other brands and teams before,he and they will be flying high.

" to 'be the best' and provide excellent customer service " I wish Eric all the best but with a ranking of 10,032 out of 11,539 on Allagents, I don't even think Eric is capable of turning this one around
