Many agents hand out freebies but we feel that due respect should be shown to Essex agents The Home Partnership for their pre-dawn pre-emptive strike.
The whole team spent all of last week getting out of bed extra early in order to put branded ice-scrapers on all cars parked in their area.
Co-founder Scott Mason said: “We were inspired by an article we read last winter written by Richard Rawlings about how many estate agents offer FREE gifts, but an estate agent that would go the extra mile would be the one that’s remembered.”
Have the early morning starts been worth it? Yes, says the agent, if only because of requests for another scraper for a second vehicle. Hmm. Let’s think about that one.
Meanwhile, let’s hope we continue to enjoy this mild winter.

Good little idea to be fair, well done.
When the weather improves pretty soon what use will it be? I am in need of a decent back-scratcher but the handle needs to be a bit longer.
And by the way, I already have one so I don't need another.
EA bog brushes, remind folks of the s**tholes they reside in.

"Pop out 10 minutes before your going to leave and put the heat on the windscreen."
And watch some chav drive off in your car, happened to my mate & a lot of other people.
This is a brilliant piece of old fashioned pro-active marketing, well done and nice to see in these days of internet, mobiles, pads & apps.
Well done guys
Now tell me how you got your staff up and out of bed at 5am on a frosty winters morning?
Do people really still use scrapers?
Pop out 10 minutes before your going to leave and put the heat on the windscreen.
I'm puzzled by the choice of words that people use as their strap line.
'The estate agent that works'
What does it mean? That other estate agents don't work? Seems a bit daft to me. If I found that on my car I'd just read the strap line and think 'Yeah, right!'
Whereas, if it said something like 'With compliments from The Home Partnership' I'd think 'thanks very much, another scraper is always handy'
Hmmm... great idea BUT -
had they spent thirty seconds longer actually SCRAPING the windscreens then they would have left an indelible etching in the prospective customers' minds - ESPECIALLY if there was another FS board outside of the house!!
Now that WOULD be 'going the extra mile'
Still - well done The Home Partnership! Let's now see who tries to 'outgift' you... ;o)
Kudos to them.
genius, well done...oh and could i have omne please ...
