Further to our report on Friday about Agent Serve Ltd, the company which supplied marketing and website services to estate agents and which has now been wound up, a former customer would be interested in hearing from others.

The winding up petition was successfully issued by solicitors acting for Haydn Yemm of Complete Estate Agents in Rugby, Warwickshire.

Yemm, who would welcome contact from others, had been in a long-running dispute with Sean Hickey, owner of Agent Serve, and had been pursuing repayment after hiring Hickey to overhaul his agency website. He said the work had not been completed.

The winding up petition was for £4,607.50.

Hickey told Estate Agent Today that the claim was valid and that he had decided to allow the winding up process to go ahead so that this and other valid claims, which he thought totalled £27,000, could be handled by the Official Receiver.

However, he said that other claims against Agent Serve were not valid.

Estate Agent Today has been contacted by others regarding Agent Serve, which operated from Esher, Surrey. One agent, Gary Limehouse, of Savannah Estates in East Anglia, says he is owed £8,500. Our report on Friday also attracted other posts, including one from a former employee, Matthew Kemp. These are among the claims which Hickey told us in an email have not been “proven or challenged in court”.

Hickey, who has informed us that he has sold the Agent Serve brand to an un-named buyer, has also been working for a property search company, Bloodhound Property in Guildford, Surrey, although he says he is no longer a consultant for them and that he will now be moving in “different directions” from the estate agency world.
