Q: Who are Imfuna?

Imfuna is a technology company focused on helping the real estate industry become more efficient by using mobile devices and cloud computing. Our founders are professional inspectors and technology experts. The ultimate vision is to develop a technology platform that provides multiple solutions for various real estate and related industries.

Imfuna’s initial product, the Let app, is available for both Apple and Android mobile devices.

Let is a complete property inspection and reporting system. Using a mobile device, professionals can collect any and all inventory details.  The product then automatically organises and formats the data which is accessible via any internet browsers. Users can then review and edit this online.  Finally the Let product allows users to customize reports with their own branding and layout. 
 

Q: How long has Imfuna been trading?

Imfuna was founded in 2009.  We took around two years to develop the initial software foundation. We launched our first product, Imfuna Let in the summer of 2011 and have been manic ever since.
 

Q: How did it all start?

It all began with Jax Kneppers, the visionary and creator of Imfuna. Jax has over 30 years experience in the forensic engineering business and runs a company which provides detailed property inspections and acts as a professional witness in damage/loss dispute cases over both commercial and residential properties which are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

He came up with the concept of the property protection platform out of necessity. As highly functioning mobile devices and cloud computing became widely available, he wanted to make use of this new technology to help the business in its day-to-day endeavours.  From that vision the concept of a technology platform to help record and store condition data was born.
 

Q: Why chooseImfuna?

Imfuna’s first product, Let, is the first Inventory application that considered the user and their current best practices above all else.  Unlike other products on the market, Imfuna provides flawless dictation and transcription, along with customised reporting. The transcription is unique in the market, as is the reporting.  We want to enhance the current workflow, not change it.

Using Imfuna clients can maintain their brand identity with automated reports, a critical feature for a service industry such as Inventory Clerks and Letting Agents.  Addiitionally, for those clients that already have software solutions, the Imfuna platform is built to be flexible enough to allow for white label integrations or stand alone branded solutions.  In other words a property management software company, for example, can actually work with Imfuna to create an inspection reporting app and reporting system that works inside their current environment and with their branding throughout.

Q: Who do you currently work with?

We currently work with two of the largest letting agents in the UK and with the largest property management software company in the UK, plus a number of inventory clerk companies as well as individual letting agents – so pretty much every party involved in the private rented sector!
 

Q: How do you create value for your clients?

We reduce the time to create quality branded reports by over 95%. Basically, what used to take 2 hours can take as little as 5 minutes. This in turn reduces the cost of hiring typist and other transcription services. All in all, Imfuna offers the best user friendly experience for inspection data collection, report editing, report creation and storage. Exploring the app and all its features can also be kind of fun too!
 

Q: How do you overcome your competitors?

It has not been an issue to date. We are the only product on the market being endorsed by major players in the residential lettings industry. We offer features and functionality that the others cannot. We’re fairly confident that the amount of research and planning that has been put in to creating Imfuna, twinned with the level of expertise is unrivalled.

That said, we are constantly researching and listening to customers to deliver the cutting edge features and functionality to keep us the inspection technology of choice.
 

Q: What is your greatest achievement and what made it so special?

Transcription via crowd sourcing, moreover, customised reports. This is MUCH harder to achieve than one would think, and what made it so special was the endorsement and feedback from some of the top players in the lettings industry; most notably some very well-established property management software companies and residential letting agents.

The reason it’s so special to Imfuna, is that the core elements of the application do exactly what we set out to achieve. Doing this first time with no major snags is a tough ask and is a real testament to our development discipline.
 

Q: What do you feel it takes to be successful in the industry?

Listen to the customer and react to their feedback. Flexibility is key; don’t take for granted the old adage of ‘the customer knowing best’, and bring something to the table that can mould in to the rapidly changing environment.
 

Q: Have you been surprised by the rapid growth of the business?

Considering we launched less than a year ago, we are very proud of our progress, but to say we are surprised would be doing our team an injustice! We are an experienced team of start up and software veterans that know what it takes for Imfuna to reach the next level.

While I am very proud of and happy with our success to date, I would not say I am completely surprised as it’s all part of our plan. That said, there is a long way to go before we get to where we want to be. Catering for all clients and being flexible enough to meet their business needs is a constant work in progress; adjusting to their requirements is an ongoing commitment.  We will see what happens in 2012, but on current form it stands to be an exciting year!
