I’m afraid it’s all about the Emperors clothes. Are they exquisite or do they even exist? Were the Bruce’s Tailors or pr wizards?

As soon as I saw the headline i thought...bet that’s Humberts! When i ran my own franchise of Humberts we used to do all that as a matter of course. We knew all the builders, mortgage consultants, dog walkers,Vets etc. the difference was that we were not getting a fee from that advice and it was therefore independent and also impartial. This way you dilute the business..it all becomes about holding on to a client at any cost. Great if the landlord Is off site but for a local landlord....? I would be delighted to be proved wrong and wish them all the luck but too many points of contact within the same firm makes for confusion in my book. Good Luck Humberts!

It’s has always amazed me that these online moguls are able to take out so much money without actually ever making a profit. That is their real skill. It is admirable in an entrepreneurial way but not one that I would want to be involved in.

This is all about the spiel. It’s about lower fees being better. Oh the commisery... in this case the story is saying any fee is worth paying.

I don’t know anyone would think this is a shock move. This is Russell Quirk we are talking about. If there is one thing he does better than anyone else... it’s talking about himself. I pity his staff. Just before Christmas is pretty tough. I hope he pays their salaries before he leaves to carry on.

As a buying agent myself I applaud her sagacity and contacts but wouldn’t want to be the bank concerned if it was just chopping it out! Also I wouldn’t want a mortgage where a bank can vary the terms at will just because they were getting wary about the market. Most of the heavily mortgaged properties in the land would be on the market if that was the case.

Russell. You are not normally lost for words. Can you please comment?

I totally agree. Block chain ( in the guise of Propy.com as an example) is the perfect block chain deliverer. Block chain is transparent, honest and there is no way of defrauding or altering the process thus banishing fraud and stalling. If it was adopted transactions could take hours, not months.

Same old story. Poor old Humberts. I wonder what the next logo will be like? Never liked the current one.

Actually, whilst there is some truth in what you say, it all depended on your negotiating ability.

I have a terrible sense of deja vu. This once mighty name has been battered over the years. Very sad.

Simple. There are processes allowed under the data protection act to check the veracity of these posts. Use them.

A contract is a contract but an unfair contract is also an unfair contract. OTM are not living up to their promises.

There is something else going on here. You don’t set up such a complicated sale and then play the deadline card. Too expensive. What really happened?

76% sold. Great stuff. It would be just as interesting to know the sale to valuation ratio too. I presume you got great value for the vendors?

It troubles me when a firm claims the market in a certain area has trebled over a period. For this to make any sense we need to know the figures. From 1 to 3 sold? From 20 to 60 sold? Help please.

I think it is fair enough for PB to ask ‘all agents’ to double check that the reviews are fairly posted. In my opinion It’s been pretty obvious for some time that most could have been written by disgruntled agents. For ‘All agents’ to be a trusted site it should just hold an unbiased audit and double check. It’s not rocket science. If you are in a position to influence vendors selling decisions you should be seen to be fair and truthful.

There are so many similarities to the old PrimeLocation it makes me weep with despair. OTM is meant to be the agents friend. I realise that when you sign a contract you have to abide by it but contracts work both ways. All new contracts ( and the original ones too) should be drafted to include a performance device to hold OTM to account if they are not performing to a set standard. It’s obvious that it was a good idea but if it’s not working in an area as well as a competitor then it is a restrictive practice and the agent concerned should be able to force OTM to up its game or be fired.
