Sold my mother's house last year (after renting it out for 2 yrs). The agents opening offer was 1 per cent, (Which we accepted), but I thought I would have to negotiate to get anywhere near that. For the record: I would have paid more and was effectively a captive audience because they had been managing the rental as well. I think people in the industry forget what good value we get in the UK compared to most of the world.

I had a look at the OTM website. It doesn't know my village exists, trying to search the local area from the nearest town throws up all sorts of random places and there isn't much stock. Whilst Right move is hideously overpriced, it does at least work from a consumer perspective.

Still massively overvalued on any normal P/E ratio. I don't think they will have much of a profit base once they have burned through all the investors money. A slow motion train crash IMO.

Of course an investor will support discussions about a merger. - Just in case favourable terms become available. This doesn't mean it's a good idea. My gut tells me that you have already had a full discussion and you are now going public because TPFG have rejected your valuation. Combined with the fact that you see no role for the TPFG senior management makes a deal most unlikely. Dorian; You may have to go out and do some hard work to add shareholder value.

What Belvoir are saying is that they can't think of anyone else to buy. There are very limited synergies with TPFG. One head office is in Grantham and the other in Bournemouth, so they would have to close one, and that would ultimately seriously disadvantage the franchisees of Martin & Co etc. The glory days of growth and acquisition are probably behind us, so both groups will have to knuckle down and fight for market share going forward. The management at TPFG is head and shoulders ahead of the Beavers, so I'm not surprised they are saying 'No deal'.

I would say Ian W has more ‘stature’ than Dorian G as CEO of a combined group.
