Jon has over 30 years of experience working within the local housing market. He became joint owner of Gusterson Palmer & James in 2005. Over this time he has gained extensive knowledge of all styles of property for both sale and let throughout the Vale of Evesham successfully advising clients selling or letting. Jon strongly believes that friendly, personal, client attention along with a clear pricing strategy and a positive marketing plan is the key to successfully finding a buyer or tenant. Outside of work Jon is a keen but average Golfer being an active member at The Vale Golf Club he also enjoys country rambling, football and the cinema.

What a total joke this government has been. As a thirty year serving estate agent and a conservative voter since my first eligible change, I will never vote Tory again. They have destroyed the housing and letting markets since 2010 and here’s another headline pleasing hairbrain scheme. Please concentrate on getting brexit dealt with, more police on the streets and creating a sensible incentivised tax system.

Perhaps they would care to publish the amount of money they have cost the public? As they have zero interest in negotiating a better price, costing people thousands of pounds. All whilst already being paid upfront with no interest in whether it sells or not. Wake up Britain, this is the biggest scam going.

Bang on. This is absolutely the theme we are running at the moment. There is a place for every kind of agency but clearly we are here to get the best possible price. The online model does not operate on quality of price as we have seen and the public looking for a cheap headline need to be reminded the damage to what they receive in their pockets by poor/non existent negotiation.

Its the public that are revealing the myth that PB are nothing more than a good advert. Just look at www.allagents.co.uk and this mirrors everything we hear from people who have either used PB themselves or had to deal with them as they want to see or buy one of their listed properties. Don't even start me on post sale progression as its non existent and contributing factor to extended times scales in conveyancing along with increased fall through rates. Like all of PB there is no one there to deal with anything. All show and no follow through.

Hi John. I get my local information direct from the agents intel section provided by Rightmove. This shows daily, weekly, monthly or annually the amount of properties listed by each agent and sold and can without question tell you that on every scenario you will see that PB or any of the other online only's get a level of instructions but the level of sales is nowhere near the business end of the results. Cheap but not very cheerful.

About time someone spoke up for us. These shameful online only lot have spun their story for too long. Taking money upfront with no end result how do they keep a straight face. PB are a good advert but the product doesn't match up. The statistics are there to see, they list property i.e. Take the money but the conversation rate to sales is really poor. You can't do anything on the cheap and why anyone would trust their most valuable asset in the most difficult transaction you will probably deal with is beyond me. #realestateagency

My one office company has maintained a high street presense for 40 or so years and the foot flow is as busy as ever. Its a great environment for my team to work from and gives buyers and sellers a point of contact. Our job remains a person to person contact job. You will never replace viewing a property online with a physical visit and to my view not replace the customer experience at the front end of sitting with a helpful agent, who can properly help you find a property. I say front end as there are so many other reasons for face to face contact. From vendor meetings, potential new customers to experience you personally, surveyors, sale progression, problems on survery and on top of that letting, which is very hands on and a prominent office remains vital. In our town one of the online franchises that has been going for a few years has just loudly trumpeted the opening of their new office after previously spouting that they were unnessessary. These are supposedly changing times but my experience is that we are still doing the same job with better tools and thats a benefit to the public. The internet is a glorified newspaper and will not replace skilled staff in good offices, regardless of what name is over the door. Good luck everyone whatever route you choose, just dont feel like you have to rip everything apart.

More hyped drivel to try and boost a share offer - whos making the money here then Ms Beeney? Another online proposition that doesnt stack up and is an irrelevance. If you are really selling homes consistently for over asking price I would suggest that you are under valuing your clients properties. As for astronomical agency fees, through experienced negotiation I agreed a price yesterday at £6000 more than my client was prepared to accept. This clearly covers any fee I may charge and some.

I am fed up with the news updates on this site. Endless headlines from 'Online' agency experts who frankly shout loudly but have nothing to back it up. Say perhaps we are three years into the 'online revolution' and they are still a tiny speck on the landscape of estate agency. If I had had the adverting budget that the brothers with coloured bricks have used, I would expect to have every property on the market within ten miles of my office and some but they remain an irrelevence and they are the the largest one. So please no more of this stuff from people who are no more than minnows giving sweeping comments on the property market.
