@Stephen Lane If companies demonstrate they’ve had a good year financially speaking and they’re making multi million pound acquisitions, then they’re doing well enough to repay furlough money

Yes, they should pay it back. They’ve pretty much used furlough money to buy Douglas & Gordon. The same with Connells and Countrywide. Very poor form and lowers the reputation of the industry further. Furlough money should be for those that really need it, not opportunistic companies looking to seize a commercial edge from it.

That may be the case, but notifying their clients in advance would have been the sensible thing to do.

I hope one day for Rightmove’s demise. Their continued poor levels of customer service indicate they’re so arrogant they think they can stay in the lead without bothering to look after their clients. No company deserves to survive like that.

My guess is Govt will say as long as you’ve exchanged by end of March you qualify for the SDLT saving.

Interesting watch. UK Million Dollar Listing. Looks like all the properties shown on the programme are still available though...

Hopefully some of these other big companies that have been blowing their own trumpets will do the same thing.

EAT - why do you continue with these daily adverts, when your readership clearly aren’t interested?

If it’s not an official instruction, how can you comply with HMRC / AML laws?

Agree with all of these. It’s been a catalogue of gross mismanagement and pretty much textbook how not to run a business. Having said that though, the company was already in serious decline before AP got there.

The sooner the industry is regulated in the UK, the better

They’re very well put together and organised, but there are so many better agents completely missing off the shortlists that it doesn’t provide a fair reflection. Which is a shame, because the marketing of the awards make them seem very credible. Some on the shortlist aren’t even top 3 on their high street, let alone in their region.

Shame the poll doesn’t say: “Working for Haart - good idea or bad idea?”

A titan of the industry - very sad news. RIP.
