Andrew, Debbie, If I had a pound for every time I read a comment on EAT, PIE, Neg etc. about if agents just switched off content supply in any direction, it would re-balance the power dynamic... Its a very valid comment. 100% true and probably easier to coordinate than it would seem.. For too long Estate Agents have been the content providers and the bank rollers of portals and the papers before them. The world has moved on, but this system has not. As an ex-publisher, it reminds me of a scenario where the journalists, do the work, write the story, take the pics, then have to pay big fees to the publishers to have the story published. - Pretty strange. However, I appreciate for wholesale change to happen in this industry, it would need every agent in the country to have every other agent's details to coordinate a masterstroke like that. This will be a by-product of one of our main goals of creating the Homesearch Network. Our plan is to networking every agent with every home in the country and every consumer to every agent. By getting ever closer to this goal (7,678 agents branches have registered with Homesearch in 68 days) we will also be able to offer agents a network platform to make this type of change happen together if you wished. Sorry for the Saturday splurge, but the action button is closer than you think.

Hi 'John Smith', Thank you for sharing your assumptions. It looks like this is your first post on Eat, so I'm grateful you felt sufficiently motivated to come on to pose these questions. Would you be keen to share the name of your Agency so that i can personally call you and run you through everything we do so you have a first hand idea of what Homesearch is and why it's different. Regards Giles

To be quite clear, we are not aiming or trying to be a portal. Those days are done and the industry need more collaboration, not fragmentation. We certainly will NOT be spending tens of millions of pounds of Investor or Agent money to try and 'get anywhere near any of the big 3' as you say HITMAN. This would a surefire way to guarantee extortionate Agent fees in the future. Not what you guys want and not what we have set out to do. 6,903 Estate Agents (as of two mins ago) have registered their interest in Homesearch and will be feeding their instructions to the public site when it goes live on the 1st July (As it says at the top of our site; Unlimited listings, no contracts and all leads/links generated go straight to the Agents at no cost) Our mission to provide a safe and central area to display listings along side information on tens of millions of off market homes on a site that consumers can enjoy ad free in an intuitive search experience. Angus, Hitman, lets make positive change happen together. Its easier than you think.

Hi Angus, Our industry is at times quite rich with unfulfilled promises, so I do see where you are coming from. Which is we would love an opportunity to show you what Homesearch is all about, it will hopefully demonstrate how serious we are about supporting Estate Agents and making a long term viable company that doesn't need to overcharge its customers.

Thanks Andrew, we all massively appreciate your support and encouragement. Debbie, yours is a very good point about the fees, which is why we put in fixed conditions around pricing specifically for Agents, this is available to see on our homepage letter. Firstly, although as a group, we've been serving agents in various ways for 15 years, we appreciate that Homesearch is relatively new to many agents, so in acknowledgement of your concerns, we set our actual price in the future, it will be £395 in Jan 2025. and it can only increase by a max of CPI each year after that.. (So to answer your question specifically, looking back at a post you wrote last year where they offered to reduce your monthly rate to £1175, well at our fixed increase rate, we wouldn't reach that cost until approx the year 2080) We do believe we are in this together, which is why we are offering the first thousand branches 60% off until Jan 2025 for supporting now. As well as providing 1,500 posted letters to help build up your pipelines over the next few months. Maybe whats more reassuring is that you don't actually need to pay Homesearch anything if all you want is your listings on the site and to receive the calls/emails. this is free for all agents, always. We are always here if you would like more info.
