There is a certain irony to this blog post, considering it’s source. Following this article, I headed over to BestAgent to see if my own listings were being used, and lo and behold they were, but more importantly, with out of date information, including withdrawn properties still showing. Oddly, every one of my listings has the wrong door number in it too. If you are going to criticise the industry as a whole about their accurate data, it would be an idea to get your own house in order.

Seems to be a lot of people wilfully misunderstanding Simon here, and taking it personally. Maybe its the article itself, but I read it that he thinks the concept itself won't overtake the traditional High Street set up, and I couldn't agree more. That's not to say that individual self employed agents cant make a go of it. I have a self employed agent under my banner, but I dont ever see it replacing my main business

‘They’ve used furlough money to buy Douglas and Gordon’ How is that possible? Furlough just claims back what you have paid non working staff. Unless you have proof that they were claiming furlough for working staff?

So, in a nutshell, someone has started a petition to pressure the government into making the regulations exactly what they are now. You should be doing virtual viewings where possible, and only carrying out physical viewings where safe and essential. That is already the guidance What a literal waste of time.

This question reminds me of when people ask "why should I was my hands in a public toilet, when I'm only going to touch the handle when I walk out. While there is a simplistic sense in the question, that is all it is, and shows a complete lack of consideration to the science behind it. If a cleaner walks in, even with COVID 19, and cleans, or an Estate Agent with COVID 19 walks in, there will always be a higher risk of infection from the agent, that the cleaner (regardless of anti bacterial properties in the cleaning agents). This is exactly why a government should be giving clear, precise guidance, and not allowing the people to use their "common sense"
