The next asset that is being sold according to rumour is its mortgage book and operation. All staff to be made redundant if not taken over and offered self employed terms along the lines of its mortgage intelligence operation.

Big closure programme of Austin Wyatt Branch’s South Coast occurring. Also Mann Brand Somerset. Hearing that Countrywide will only have one office/brand in each town. Bristol, Cornwall and Hampshire going to be worst hit by all of counts.

Chris Hill I heard from someone in one of all branch’s the Taylor’s Brand Bristol going as all loosing money and near zero stock. May be a rumour but if you look at their prize Bradley Stoke Branch has about 5 available properties and that must be costing upwards £40k per month to run

What a joke this is. Used to work for the company and it’s all about if your face fits. It’s the same branch’s and people who go every year. An excuse for the senior management to have a jolly and seriously misbehave. I wonder how Skipton Building Society vide this?? Perhaps they don’t know what really goes on.

Looks like a good number of Clive Watkin branches have closed. A great independent agent that countrywide recently purchased and run into the ground. It’s all very well talking about share price etc but how many peoples lives have been destroyed by Countrywide poor management. Job loses, job security not to many mention many people I know who were sold the dream on fantastic employee share save schemes who have nothing to show and struggling to support their families. The company should be ashamed of what they have become. I worked there many of years ago and whilst the culture may have been wrong people staff were paid well if performed, had career profession and job security. I know for a fact everyone working there now have no loyalty to the company and have a very short term outlook on their job. If you treat employees bad they will treat their customers the same.
