I despair that these types of operations will inevitably lead to an erosion of standards in our industry. Treating a professional service like it’s a cottage industry, negging a deal whilst making dinner for the kids. I understand this concept in America works as the fees are far higher and thus you can deal with one or 2 sales and the MLS allows other agents to try and sell the property.

It’s a false economy to think higher tax rates generate more money. So much more tax will have been generated through the tens of thousands of people moving.

I’ve seen first hand the unrealistic expectations of some clients who have no hesitation in threatening to report you to the ombudsman. I’ve just had a case with the ombudsman withdrawn by a seller because he complained of a lack of viewings. When there is no initial qualification of the merit of a complaint then the levels of complaints will continue to rise in my opinion.

I’m not sure what’s stopped them concentrating here, 100s of LPEs and millions spent on advertising? What change do you envisage?

Honestly if I was him I’d give up! No money in this idea he’d be better off working for Tesco on minimum wage. People aren’t using this firm because this market does not exist in the mainstream, no one wants the product!

The Emoov trustpilot reviews have fallen off a cliff, even if it does re-emerge I suspect serious damage has occurred.
