Mr Alexander is right - this- this would be very damaging assuming the SNP Government do not make a similar move here - which them being them, they won't. "Squeezing the Rich" being of more importance, even when the reality is that as in England, less tax is collected when taxes go up ! What will happen though is that the full extent of the loony left policies of the SNP and the damage they are doing to the Scottish economy will become clear to all, particularly when the effects are compounded by calls for another divisive Referendum. Scotland will never be the place to be or the place to invest it should be while these covert Marxists are in charge. There is already a massive black hole in their budget - which means still higher taxes and less services. Eventually the people will wake up, smell the coffee and will vote for someone more sensible and competent so that prosperity can be restored.

The Listing model is blown and has become a busted flush. Only a matter of time before "Investment" in Purple Bricks dries up and it dies or re-invents itself. Call me old-fashioned but a business that has never made a profit nor paid a dividend is not my idea of an investment.

The failure of emoov probably spells the end of the line for on-line listing based firms. Note the fall in the share price of the once invoincible Purple Bricks. Were I an investor in such a firm I'd be wanting my money back PDQ before the business in question goes pop. The bottom line is that none of these models make a profit and survive only while able to suck in more and more "Investment". Call me old-fashioned but I like a more ......dare I say ....."Traditional" form of investment - putting money into something that does a decent job (ie actually sells the property rather than just listing it), charges a sensible price so it can make a profit and that pays me a dividend.

Mr Abrahmsohn is absolutely correct. And the other aspect of this madness is the SDLT reciepts fell as a consequence of the changes. Time we'd an Estate Agent or two in Government.

Tiny tinsey problem is that it does not make any money and the point at which it eventually might is like a teflon coated carrot ........ The so-called LPE's are not making any money either, which is probably why they are leaving ! It’s still all about people, service and trust. Our business has grown through happy clients referring their friends to us and because we get the job done, whatever is going on in the market, and who only want a fee when the job is done - property sold.
