but Micky, that's the problem with the industry. it's okay it will sort itself out. no, it won't. if I overvalue a property but let's say the real price is £300K, it's valued at £320K but sold for £310K it's still been oversold, and this then has a knock-on effect for every other property. in the nearby area. I don't disagree with your comments on the industry being a farce.

if only there was a model of a set fee, this would prevent inflated prices to earn more commission. does anybody know of such a model?

Any estate agency business that has posted profits similar to last year should. After all it's one of the few industries that has seen an upward shift in sales.

People who start the buying/selling process now should be protected absolutely. But the stamp holiday should be brought to an end. Estate agents have had so much help by the government by allowing the industry to stay open. Typical estate egents always want more

Not looking for an argument, but what do you think should have happened, should the government have just taken a back step and watched the carnage unfold?

Estate agency has got off relatively lightly compared to many other sectors when you compare what has happened to those in hospitality, leisure or non-essential retail for example. if Estate agents are told to shut up shop for a little while they cant really complain, although I am sure they will

Connells, seem to be the best option for Countrywide, as somebody with no skin in the game I will watch from a distance. I for one hope a deal is done, otherwise many people may lose their job and this is not good for anybody

Clever bit of business, tap in to the patriotism of his fellow countyman whilst deep down knowing they won't win.

The ironic thing is a lot of people from within this department are under notice.

The first question that pops in to my head is why are train drivers paid so much? From the outside looking in. it seems to be a fairly easy job.

It's so pleasing to read that she will get a big pay off whilst hardworking "normal" waged countrywide staff are not getting a bonus this year. How she can pocket that money is a disgrace. She talked about integrity oh the irony
