Phil Spencer to host Propertymark’s biggest qualifications event yet

Property TV personality and EAT columnist Phil Spencer is set to host the biggest ever qualifications ceremony event to date, with Propertymark Qualifications ready to mark the achievement and talent of more learners than ever before.

The UK awarding body, which provides professional qualifications for the leading sector brands, witnessed almost 7,000 new learners register for a qualification, going on to take more than 10,600 exams.

With increased appetite for qualifications and apprenticeships as the property industry looks to upskill and better regulate itself, the upcoming ceremony will be the largest gathering of its kind, ‘scaled up to raise the roof on the sector’s success’, the trade body says.

The awards ceremony will be held on October 11 at the British Museum in London, with Location Location Location star Spencer – who is also the founder of Move iQ – hosting and presenting the event.

Given the recently announced tie-up between Propertymark and Move iQ, where they share advice to help educate consumers on the risks of using an unqualified agent, Spencer is eager to celebrate the future starts of the sector.

“I’m delighted to be part of the Propertymark Qualifications ceremony, to celebrate the hard work of everyone achieving their qualifications and support how this then filters through to the quality of advice and service their clients receive,” Spencer said.

“These qualifications have the huge potential to accelerate professional standards for the sector and is something I completely endorse.”

Propertymark Qualifications will be offering learners the chance to take centre stage - quite literally - and receive their award from Spencer himself at the ceremony.

“I am thrilled that so many leading agents across the sector are choosing to qualify with Propertymark Qualifications and this year’s event is set to be our greatest ever. This event is testimony to a sector that is getting qualified on an unprecedented scale, taking control of its future and tackling the challenges ahead,” Michael Smith, Head of Propertymark Qualifications, said.

“The appetite to get qualified and document your credentials truly reflects the professionalism of agents and the attraction of careers in the industry. I can’t wait to welcome everyone.”

Propertymark Qualifications says the awards will give a platform to those who achieved outstanding results in their examinations and apprenticeship assessments. Further to this, learners can still be nominated up until September 5 in the following three categories:

Learner of the Year: Have you embraced learning with passion and shown commitment to applying your skills?

Rising Star: Have you been in the sector for less than three years leaving your mark by delivering tangible benefits to your employer?

Employer of the Year: Does your company promote a learning culture and create an environment in which people flourish and support employees working towards their qualification or apprenticeship assessment?

Nominations must be made before September 5.

Propertymark says the awards bash will be a must-attend event, with tickets limited. You can find out more, including the award nomination criteria and how to nominate, by clicking here.
