100 and not out! Kent agency celebrates centenary year

A well-known local agency in Kent is turning 100 this year.  

Starting out in Gillingham in 1922, Wards is now based in more than 40 locations and has remained a family-run business throughout.

The agency, which is part of Arun Estates Ltd, has become a household name throughout Kent, from its beginnings as Ward & Partners, to Wards of Kent, to today, when it is known simply as Wards.

“Being part of the community for over 100 years means so much to us,” the agency said in a statement. “From helping people move into their first or forever homes to helping our local communities, we aspire to inspire those to move forward on their life’s journey.”

As well as the bread and butter of agency, Wards also says it has continually supported many local charities around Kent, donating more than £12 million over the last 30 years. For its centenary year, it has partnered with The Children’s Trust to raise vital funds to support children with brain injuries in the UK.
