A former UK national sales director at Purplebricks has been reunited with the online agent’s founder Michael Bruce at Boomin.
Paul Vickerstaff, who was national sales director for Purplebricks between March 2015 and March 2019, where he was dubbed 'Mr Motivator' has taken a new role at the challenger portal.
Industry sources told EAT that Vickerstaff was referred to as “Mr Motivator” while at Purplebricks, where it was his job to encourage the local property experts.
Vickerstaff told Estate Agent Today that his role at Boomin will be to oversee field-based relationship managers who work with agents and their branches.
His most recent job had been as a managing director of Spicerhaart, which he left last month.
Vickerstaff says: “I am delighted to have joined Boomin which is an exciting business.
“The opportunity came about a week or so ago post me deciding to leave my previous role to look for a fresh challenge.”
Vickerstaff first revealed the move in a LinkedIn post yesterday, which says: “I’m excited to be supporting and working with this amazing business and I look forward to sharing more news and updates over the coming weeks.
“As for now, time to get day one underway.”
This represents the latest high profile appointment for Bruce as he builds Boomin and prepares to reveal the portal’s paid up agents later this week.
Agents were allowed to sign up for free when the portal launched a year ago and deals are now being agreed.
Other appointments include former commercial director of Zoopla Athena Hubble as managing director and ex-Virgin Group executive Stephen Murphy as chairman.

Absolute farce this. Why on earth would you join a 'nothing' they have just created a load of hype around a 'nothing'. How many of their 8k members are now paying? Looking forward to seeing the list of idiots supporting this. What on earth are agents doing signing up to this as it offers absolutely nothing of value that we don't get from the other portals. To be honest I think one dome are a much better challenger. More innovative. You agents supporting this need your heads testing. Nothing ground breaking to see here just 2 greedy self absorbed individuals who want to fleece us yet again.
To get paid to pay your mortgage - look after your family - afford to have a beer
Barmy if you ask me, Can't get my head around why anyone would join these greedy blood suckers, why can't agents see what's happening here? anyone joining must have they lost their minds or are plain stupid.
Have read online that agents' properties are still appearing after giving notice, the delay being due to 'on-going conversations' between agents and the portal.
I remember this gent being called many names but Mr Motivator wasn't one. Most were much shorter usually four letters long.
