Boomin says it’s beating other portals for YouTube views

Boomin claims that one of the online influencers it has commissioned to create YouTube content has won has many viewers as the social media version of Phil Spencer’s and Kirstie Allsopp’s Love It Or List It.

The portal says it is using influencers WillNe and Behzinga, who each have over 4.5m social media followers, as well as reality TV performers from Love Island and Made In Chelsea to “lead the way in the social space.”

A statement from Boomin - which is a year old next week - says one episode of the Boomin-commissioned ‘Inside Behzinga’s New Dream House’ was trending on YouTube and eventually got 1.5m views - matching the latest instalment of Kirstie & Phil’s Love It or List It.

And Boomin says some of its other productions - including ‘At Home with Yiannimize’ and ‘AJ & Sharkey Look For A New Beta Squad Mansion’ - have also been big draws.

Although Boomin has yet to give out major figures regarding the number of paying agents or how many visits it has to its property listings, it is more forthcoming on social media stats.

It says that since its launch it has had ”millions of views, racked up over 200,000 hours of watch time and secured over 26,000 subscribers - more than double the followers of all of the other property portals combined.”

Phil Lloyd, Boomin’s chief marketing officer, says: “We are a property obsessed nation but until now property social channels have failed to provide suitable content to feed our addiction. People are looking for something new and fresh; they want to see the most exciting, jaw-dropping properties in the UK presented by the most influential people that are relevant to them, online.

“The majority of our subscribers are homeowners. We're engaging a large, broad audience of consumers who are very much into property in a new and compelling way, with the ultimate aim of drawing more people into the market.

“This is only just the start. We have huge ambitions to become the most entertaining property brand online, building a loyal subscriber base, and helping agents to connect with these audiences.”

It's not the number of subscribers that matter but the subscribers that engage. It doesn't matter if they have 9 million combined subscribers if they only have a few thousand capable of buying a home.
