Agents Do Charity - our thoughts remain with Ukraine…

The humanitarian crisis in Ukraine continues to dominate the thoughts of our industry as this week’s ADC shows - a wonderful example of our industry at its finest.

Whatever the cause you are working for, at home or abroad, we would love to help. Just send details (and images and videos too, please) to press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we will let the industry know - and perhaps win some more funds for you too.

DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal: The Conveyancing Foundation has launched an appeal for Ukraine by opening up its monthly Charity Lotto to members of the public for the first time, raising £15,000 in 24 hours.

All the funds raised through the Lotto from today will be donated to the official DEC appeal. For a minimum donation of £10, anyone can now take part in the Lotto with a possible chance to win £500.

Nicola Lancaster from the foundation says: “To put it in context, £30 could provide hygiene supplies for three people for one month, £50 could provide blankets for four families and £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.”

DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal: During the last week of April the team at the Dwell estate agency is going to cycle the 2000k distance to Ukraine from Leeds, in their HQ to raise funds for those who need it most.

The team tells us: “This will involve our team of seven riding two fixed bikes on rotation all day every day for a week. We plan to set off at 9am on Monday April 25 and cover the distance by no later than 5.30pm on Friday April 29. During this week we’ll either be cycling, helping customers, or sleeping! You can help us reach our target of £10,000 to send to those who need it the most by donating here."

A Property For Ukraine Families: The Watersons agency is fundraising to source and fund a property through its Landlords to serve as a home for Ukraine refugees for a minimum of 12 months. And for every pound raised Watersons will give a pound too.

The agency’s fundraising team is walking 10 miles from Altrincham to the Ukraine Cultural Centre while agency chief Peter Waterson will also be running the Manchester Marathon this weekend.

DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal: Suppliers and agents are backing the Fine & Country Foundation in its support for Ukraine by making donations worth £41,650.

Trustee Jon Cooke says: “The foundation in its own will be donating £15,000 to the DEC. In addition to this, nurtur.group will match the donation and will contribute a further £15,000 to the cause. Other key partners have stepped up to show their support by making sizable donations.”

Jon adds that the foundation will be encouraging agents across the network along with the general public to also donate to directly to the DEC.

Choose Love: Industry veteran Peter Everett, now Yopa’s commercial director, has teamed up on stage with friend and conveyancing expert Joanne Robinson of Country & Capital Property Law to raise funds at the Ideal Home Exhibition.

They collected some £200 in cash to donate to Choose Love, a charity that raises funds for refugees and especially right now the millions of Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their country following Russia’s invasion.

Joanne says: “Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.” You can give here and see the pair's video below.
