Will Ukraine, Interest Rates and Energy Prices hurt housing market?

One of the UK’s leading economic experts is to be the speaker at a Rightmove seminar this week, considering whether events here and beyond will reduce the heat in the market.

David Smith - economics editor of the Sunday Times for the past 30 years - will be in the hot seat for the hour-long webinar on Wednesday, March 2.

Later in the month, on March 10, Mark Stemp - tax partner at Crowe UK - will be joining a webinar to discuss Capital Gains Tax on residential property. Rightmove member agents recently voted the webinar as one of the subjects it would be most useful to cover.

Stemp will be helping agents to leave the webinar with more of an understanding of calculating Capital Gains Tax on the disposal of a residential property, Main Residence Relief, and the new 60-day reporting and tax payment deadline.

Then on March 15 Rightmove’s legal and compliance director David Cox will be giving an update on the latest regulations to affect the industry, including Material Information for property listings, and the new Digital Right to Rent checks.

Two further Rightmove webinars in March will feature property law expert David Smith helping agents prepare for the Renting Homes (Wales) Act coming into force in July, and Richard Rawlings who will be sharing 15 ideas with agents to get more valuations.

Agents can find more details on the Rightmove hub here.
