Sobell House Hospice, Dementia Oxfordshire and Oxfordshire Mind: The famous lettings agency Finders Keepers says it wants to acknowledge the support it’s received over the past 50 years by raising £50,000 - to be split between three local charities.

Throughout 2022, Finders Keepers will be raising vital funds for Sobell House Hospice, Dementia Oxfordshire and Oxfordshire Mind.

The team of around 100 people all voted for the charities they wanted to support, and over the coming months they will bake, run, cycle, walk, quiz, kick footballs, host auctions and sing - all to raise money for these fantastic charities.

Finders Keepers was founded in Oxfordshire in 1972 and in their fifth decade of letting property in the county, the team felt inspired to set a bold goal to fundraise for local, Oxfordshire charities.

Emma Croft-Pearson, associate director, comments: "I think the last couple of years have really made us realise how fortunate we are. When we did our 'FABruary' challenge for Oxfordshire Mind last year I was amazed at how our team members threw themselves into the task.

"When the team met to discuss how to mark our 50^th year, there was a clear feeling that we wanted to give back to the communities that we have been part of for the last 50 years. This is our bold goal for a big year!"

Ocean City Running Festival: Lang Town & Country has been announced as the new headline sponsor for the Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival 2022 - to be held, of course, in Plymouth.

This year's festival takes place on Sunday June 19, and consists of the Plymouth Half, Plymouth 10k and Plymouth 5k with all three starting on the iconic Hoe. Over 7,000 runners are expected.

Richard Rabin, director at Lang Town & Country, says: “Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival is one of the largest events in the Plymouth calendar, so naturally we jumped at the opportunity to become headline sponsor.

"As an independent Plymouth company, we're hugely proud to live and work in this amazing city and support our local communities.

"Sponsoring this event allows us to give something back to the people of Plymouth. Race day is always a wonderful experience, and we'll be there to cheer on the dedicated runners as they cross the finish line.”

Arbon Trust: This is the charitable arm of Propertymark and it welcomes Lauren Scott - former NAEA Propertymark President and Managing Director of Trading Places Estate Agents in Whitley Bay - as its new chair.

Since 2015, when Arbon Trust was officially registered as a charity, helping members, their families and Propertymark staff has continued to be at the heart of everything it stands for.

During its time it has supported other charities through fund raising activities helping to raise tens of thousands of pounds and has provided members facing extreme difficulties with vital financial support when it was needed most.

Lauren says: “I’ve always been a keen advocate for everything we do at Arbon Trust, and it is ever-more important that given the effects of the pandemic on many people’s lives and mental health, that we look to continue to support as many people as we can.

“It is an honour to take on this role and responsibility and I look forward to making continued strides in the positive changes that our Trust makes.”

Former chair Aidan Reid will step down but will remain as a Trustee.

Agents Giving: Industry charity Agents Giving can help you with ideas for fundraising, a grant to help with the set-up costs of your event or challenge and even help promote your event, so more of the funds you raise go directly to the charity of your choice.
