Hybrid agency expands by acquiring sales arm of rival firm

The sales arm of independent Leicester agency Fothergill Wyatt has been sold to fast-growing local business Hortons.

Fothergill Wyatt was established in 2010 and Nicol Nightingale, manage director of Fothergill Wyatt, says “This strategic move will allow us to strengthen our focus on building our asset management portfolio and residential lettings department, and then also ensuring, through a collaborative ongoing working relationship, that we can confidently refer sales clients to Hortons.”

Hortons now operates across five counties and describes itself as one of the largest independent estate agencies in the region.

Hortons says it operates like Purplebricks in terms of no High Street offices but having local property professionals in different areas.

In a statement issued last year founder Adam Horton stated: “Our aim is to become a national agency within the next five years.”
