Borders estate agent invests in ‘unique’ digital signage – is it the future?

A Borders estate agency business, Hastings Legal and Property, has invested in Halo Digital Signage – hailed as ‘the new generation of digital screen solutions’ – to try and attract and engage digital-savvy homebuyers.

Halo digital signage software, which uses a cloud-based content management system for screens anywhere, ‘seamlessly integrates with leading CRM systems such as Alto to automate real-time property updates’.

Ron Hastings, a director of Hastings Legal and Property which operates from the four Borders’ towns of Selkirk, Kelso, Duns and Eyemouth, said: “We trialled the Halo system with its commercial ultra-bright screens and have found everything exceptionally easy to use.

“Being able to display property information from Alto in real-time, across specified locations, is a game-changer for us. We will save a huge amount of time and print costs because there is no need to constantly update our window card displays.”

Mark Evans, founder of Halo, added: “We are delighted to work with Hastings. Our Halo screens are ultra-bright – between six and ten times brighter than any domestic screen – and sunlight readable. Powered by our very own easy to use software technology, each screen can be left running with scheduled and real-time updates – attracting and engaging prospective clients – 24 hours a day.

He continued: “Ron’s sales teams are looking to make their windows work harder to connect and engage with an increasingly tech-savvy homebuyer. Estate agents are busy people and don’t have the time to constantly monitor and manually update window cards, so why not make windows an effective digital marketing asset.

He said agents can also remotely control local messaging through a PC or mobile device from anywhere, for instance, screening adverts in between property promotions –– or scheduling marketing content such as the offer of mortgage advice or valuation services.

“Halo gives agents the power to schedule and update playlists or to employ different screen layouts and templates. Users can create messaging playlists with an easy drag and drop set-up to ensure they continually stand out from their competitors.”

As well as Hastings Legal and Property, early adopters of the Halo digital signage system include Donald Ross Residential, the biggest residential sales and lettings agency in Ayrshire. Halo now has installation capability across the UK from bases in Glasgow, London and Lancashire.

Based in Glasgow and London, Halo’s parent company, NomadiX Media, was founded in 2012 and specialises in creating technology that connects digital audiences with brands across the world.
