Agents Do Charity (but probably not on Saturday evening)

There’s no need for excuses if you’re not fund raising for good causes on Saturday evening - tens of millions will be rooting for England.

But there’s a Euros 2020 theme to some of this week’s entries. Before we reveal all, a reminder to let us know your fundraising good work.

Please email press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll do the rest.

Agents Giving: Are you fundraising for charity this Summer? If yes, then Agents Giving can help you.

With events and fundraising back on the agenda for many agents, the industry charity Agents Giving is continuing to support and encourage fundraising efforts with the Agents Giving Grant Fund supported by Agents Giving and The Guild.

The fund helps towards the set up costs of fundraising events, meaning more of the money raised goes to charity.

Applying for a grant is simple and requests should be made in advance of any fundraising event or challenge as Agents Giving will also help with the promotion. You can fundraise for any UK charity or local community cause.

A recent example of an agent doing some amazing charity work and fundraising is from Kerry Banks BEM at KCB Properties who supported and organised The Martha Trust Music on the Farm on – a community event in the fields of Solley’s Ice Cream farm in Ripple, Kent.

All proceeds were towards helping The Martha Trust transform the lives of people with profound disabilities.

Music on the Farm was an accessible safe event for all the community to enjoy. The event raised over £22,000 which will go directly to the care of the young people and adults with profound disabilities at Martha Trust.

Kerry Banks comments: “After an incredibly challenging year due to Covid19, we were really excited to be working with Solley’s Farm Ice cream again this year, especially with them being long term supporters of Martha. Despite the rain, it was fabulous to see people still having fun. A HUGE Thank you to all our amazing Volunteers, Sponsors, Vendors and Musicians and to each and every one of you that attended the event.”

Any requests should be made via a registration form on the Agents Giving website; https://agentsgiving.org/the-agents-giving-grant-fund. To apply for a grant you must be fundraising for a UK registered charity.

LGBTQ+ Causes: Zoopla employees have raised over £1,600 during Pride month for three chosen LGBTQ+ causes, Mermaids, AKT and Switchboard.

Mermaids provide support for transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse children, young people, and their families, while AKT supports LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 in the UK who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.

Switchboard is Zoopla's third chosen charity and is a LGBTQ+ helpline that provides a safe space for anyone to discuss a range of topics including sexuality, gender identity and emotional well-being.

Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice: Archer Bassett Agency is raising money and awareness for this wonderful charity.

This campaign started with £100 for every home nation goal scored during the Euro2020, so with England, Wales and Scotland creating goals, the total raised so far is at £600.

Hopefully with England progressing through to the next stage, there will be plenty more goals coming and in turn, more money raised for Zoe's Place.

Peter Moore, managing director of Archer Bassett & Co Ltd, says: "Archer Bassett have long been a supporter of Zoe's Place Baby Hospice, and we saw this as a fabulous opportunity not only to raise much needed funds after the Covid pandemic, but to also create further awareness for the wonderful work that Zoe's Place Baby Hospice does".
