Hour Community - Huntingfield Estates is an agency with a tuk tuk called Tilly (and for those not in the know, that’s a tiny taxi seen in much of Asia).

The agency’s Becky Eglinton tells us: “Now that better weather is approaching we are hoping to get Tilly out to support the local community. We have loaned her to Hour Community to support local people. Tilly really does put a smile on peoples faces and will help the locals too. This is my colleague Donna at the helm. Banjo, our company dog and mascot has his own seatbelt and loves nothing better than a trip in Tilly too.”

Hour Community is a registered charity based in Framlingham, created to support the residents and surrounding villages with help in the home, a dementia befriending service, a mental health drop in cafe and transport to medical appointments.

Hour Community's ethos is "please give an hour of your time a month to help someone in need. If you can't give an hour of your time, give an hour of your salary”.

Agents Giving/Food Banks: Our industry charity Agents Giving is celebrating its continued support of The Trussell Trust and local food banks with a nationwide campaign on June 17.

The aim is to encourage all agents and suppliers to support their local food banks by donating a food parcel as more people than ever are facing extreme poverty.

According to The Trussell Trust 2.5m emergency parcels were provided to people in crisis in 2020/21, this was a 128 per cent increase compared to five years ago! Almost 1 million food parcels were provided for children in 2020/21.

Agents Giving says: “Please check with your food bank the items they are in most need of, collect them up and make the donation at a social distancing drop off point. Your office can collect food donations from your area encouraging the wider community to also take part and donate.

You can also contribute by purchasing and donating items to your local food bank via your local supermarket collection bin, just a couple of items will help make a big difference to the ongoing need for emergency food in local communities, especially during these difficult times. You can find the Agents Giving Day Toolkit here for all you need to be part of this national food drive.

Michael Stoop, the charity chairman, says: “We are encouraging everyone to support their local food banks this Agents Giving Day. By simply collecting up and donating a food parcel it can help make such a difference to those living and going hungry in our local communities”.

Find your local food bank here, to see what items they require.
