Penumbra: The sporty team at Edinburgh’s residential property investment and lettings specialists Cullen Property are extending their original walk, run and cycle challenge from Cullen in Morayshire to Cullen in New York State - and now further, to Cullen in the Tierra del Fuego area of Argentina.

The new leg has been added to the pledge as the team covered the initial distance from Morayshire to New York State faster than expected.

The initiative’s goal is to raise money for mental health charity Penumbra.

The team covered more than its target of 3,173 miles in just four months. They have now added a little over 5,000 miles to their original challenge to raise an additional £1,355. The Cullen Property team will continue to measure their progress via tracking apps and share regular updates here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/CullenProperty.

Cullen Property Managing Director Steve Coyle explains: “We have been blown away by the whole team’s enthusiasm for this challenge. And, we are delighted to support a charity like Penumbra that focuses on integrating mental health support and dealing with practical life circumstances.”

Land Aid: Paul Ruocco, managing director of property maintenance and management firm Home Minders was one of the top individual fundraisers in the recent LandAid 10K run.

Smashing his target earlier this month, Paul says: “Thanks to everyone’s support I raised an amazing £1,208 for LandAid the charity we adopted last year. The money will go towards helping homeless young people enjoy a better life and provide them with more opportunities to leave the streets behind and start making a successful future for themselves.”

TDS Charitable Foundation: The private rented sector has now received over £800k in grants from the charity since it was launched.

Funded mainly by donations from the Dispute Service, 59 projects have benefitted from this.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on many industries, including the PRS and the Foundation has been keen to continue to assist projects which have supported the needs of tenants and landlords in the pandemic and beyond” says Steve Harriott, TDS Charitable Foundation Trustee and Chief Executive of the Dispute Service.

The successful projects included initiatives for safer renting, support with Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards and an innovative advice Chatbot produced by Citizens Advice Manchester. And the £9,943.29 funding awarded to the Exeter Private Rental Forum will be used to help landlords deliver better tenancy management.

TDS Charitable Foundation is currently welcoming bid funding applications for the next round, with a deadline for submissions being 5pm on Friday August 27.Those interested in applying for funding or knowing more about all current projects can download the full TDS Charitable Foundation Annual Review from the TDS Information Lounge online or by visiting the TDS Charitable website.

Agents Giving Day: The industry came out in force to support their local food banks yesterday, getting behind the industry charity and its Annual Agents Giving Day.

An amazing effort was shown from agents up and down the country to ensure their local food banks received the items they require to support food poverty in our local communities. Agents prepared food donations to support their local food banks and collected thousands of essential food items and toiletries and made the all-important and much needed safe delivery to their local food banks, churches and supermarket drop off points.

The total number of items collected so far stands at the thousands with further donations still being made which is an amazing effort.

Huge thanks from Agents Giving goes to Relocation Agent Network who have supported and organized a week long collection with member’s offices and to all agents involved for their support, including; Dawson’s, Paramount, Thomas Morris Estate Agents, Drivers & Norris, Belvoir Aberdeen, MCP Design & Print, Abby Properties and Thomas Charles.
