Combat stress with Propertymark mental health awareness training

Propertymark is backing the current Mental Health Awareness Week - and says the market boom is a possible cause of additional stress.

The organisation is supporting the week with a collection of courses, webinars, and resources encouraging agents to consider their own and their colleagues' mental health.

“That should not stop after #mentalhealthawarenessweek, so learning some new skills now can equip agents to look after their mental health whilst handling the pressures involved in working in the property sector” says Propertymark.

Two online courses - sponsored by the Arbon Trust, Propertymark's charitable arm - are part of a package of training designed to help mitigate and control work-related stress risks, helping managers ensure they know how to identify and treat stress and explore what work-related stress is, the causes, and how to recognise the signs.

Drawing on his own personal experience, ARLA Propertymark vice president David Votta discusses via a webinar and in a Property Professional magazine article, how he has managed his mental health with hints and tips on how you can help yourself and colleagues.

Creating the Right Mindset to Deal with Uncertainty, the Votta webinar on Friday, gives tips to help people deal with the day-to-day stresses of uncertainty including expectation versus reality.
