Nurses at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital: An estate agency in Attleborough is showing its appreciation to the superheroes of the NHS by donating fruit hampers to Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

The donations have  celebrated International Nurses Day, which happened earlier this month.

Millbanks Estate Agents wanted to show appreciation for the sacrifice and hard work the nurses and medical staff have put in over the past year.

Millbanks owner, Tony Beales, explains: “We’re an independent, community-orientated business, and we know first-hand about the fantastic work our NHS staff have done and continue to do.

“Earlier this year, during the height of the pandemic, we worked with Easters of Norwich, a local fruit and veg supplier, to deliver fruit to cheer the staff at the hospital up. So it seemed fitting to do it again to show our gratitude to them.

“It’s our small way of saying thank you to these amazing people.”

A spokesperson from the hospital adds: “Thank you so much to Tony and the Millbanks team for thinking of us again. The whole team appreciated the previous fresh fruit deliveries and will enjoy these latest treats. It really does mean a lot to all of us.”

DePaul UK: Computershare Loan Services and The Deposit Protection Service have awarded £40,000 to national charity Depaul UK to help tackle the root causes of homelessness and improve financial stability among young people.

The organisations said the donation would fund financial literacy workshop programmes across the country, particularly for those aged 16 to 25 who are without a home or who are at risk of becoming homeless.

Nicola Harwood, Director of Prevention and Programmes at Depaul UK, says: “This significant donation will enable us to extend our work with young people to help them escape or avoid homelessness, achieve financial independence and progress into long‑term education, training or sustainable employment.

“Increasing financial literacy among young people is integral to young people’s independence, health and employability.”

Agents Giving Grant Fund: Agents Giving is continuing to support and encourage agents fundraising efforts with the Agents Giving Grant Fund supported by Agents Giving and The Guild.

The fund helps towards the set up costs of your fundraising events, meaning more of the money you raise goes to your chosen charity.

Applying for a grant is simple and requests should be made in advance of your fundraising event as Agents Giving will also help you with the promotion. You can fundraise for any UK charity or local community cause.

Many agents and their supported Charities have benefited from an Agents Giving grant this year such as; Young Minds, Willow Foundation, Llamau, Rainbow Trust, Martha Trust, CALM, Ella’s Charity, NSPCC, ChildLine, Connection Support and NHS Charities to name a few.

Rachel Ritson, Managing Director of Grisdales comments: “We’re absolutely delighted that Agents Giving were able to support our Grisdales Big Walk Event!  With 14,764 miles in total to walk, we already have 4236 miles under our belt and have been able to donate to two local charities. Thanks to the support from the Agents Giving grant, we’ve been able to increase the donations and add another worthy local cause to our list.”

Michael Stoop, Chairman of Agents Giving comments: “The Agents Giving Grant Fund is continuing to actively help agents with their event costs, meaning more of the money raised goes directly to their chosen charity, which is crucial for charities at the moment.”

Holding On, Letting Go: Sittingbourne estate agency Harrisons Homes is celebrating raising £10,000 for a charity by holding a pop up stall in the town.

The money has been raised for local bereavement charity Holding On Letting Go.

To celebrate this significant fundraising achievement, Harrisons will be joining forces with the charity to host a stall and fun activities including a raffle and games.

It’s a great opportunity to have some fun and also meet staff and supporters of this important charity to learn more about their work.

Chris Ellis from Harrisons Homes says: “The team at Harrisons has worked so hard to raise this money for Holding On Letting Go. It is such an important charity and we greatly admire the work it does helping children and young people navigate their way through tragedy and grief. It’s our great pleasure to be able to announce that we have hit the £10k mark, raised in less than a year.  So please come along on May 22 and celebrate with us.”
