International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia: Foxtons and its LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusion network held an event earlier this month to celebrate gender diversity.
The event followed recent work to ensure Foxtons’ Anti-Money Laundering process was trans-inclusive and of further work the agency says it’s taking to develop as a diverse and inclusive business, “representative of the communities we serve.”
Foxtons chief operating officer Patrick Franco says: “At Foxtons we’re proud to have built a diverse and inclusive business that represents the communities we work in and on IDAHOBIT we’re delighted to share our continued support for the LGBTQ+ community. By constantly challenging ourselves, and working with fantastic partners … we’re continuing to take a lead in the property sector to recognise all our customers equally.”
Foxtons has worked with charity The Beaumont Society, which exists to support trans people, whether they are members or not, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race creed or colour.
Holding On, Letting Go: To celebrate raising £10,000 for Holding On Letting Go, Sittingbourne estate agents Harrisons Homes teamed up with the charity to hold a pop up stall in the town centre recently.
Chris Ellis from Harrisons Homes says: “We had a wonderful day and it was fantastic for our staff to meet the team from Holding On Letting Go. Shoppers and members of the public joined in with our raffle and tombola and hopefully learned something about this very important local charity too.”
A bottle of bubbly was cracked open and glasses raised in celebration, Chris Ellis pledged to continue the support for the children’s charity with more fundraising in future and a pledge to raise a further £10,000, bringing the total raised to £20,000, hopefully by this time next year!
All the staff at Harrisons have got behind the fundraising initiative which has only been running for 12 months, but has already raised enough money for the charity to support 30 children who are struggling with the loss of someone they love Fund raising initiatives organised by Harrisons included donating £50 for every house sale; holding raffles and a team member participating in a sponsored bike ride. Harrisons also worked with other local businesses to donate Christmas presents to the children being supported by Holding On Letting Go.
