Ex-Knight Frank high flyer sets up online agency

A high flying agent with experience at a string of top end companies has set up an online business with his wife, a property marketing expert.

Patrick and Celia Paton will run Paton & Co from their home in the Scottish Borders.

Patrick has run his own Edinburgh lettings agency in the past before taking up senior roles with Knight Frank and Smiths Gore, and most recently becoming a partner at Rettie.

Celia’s marketing experience includes working with clients including John Lewis and Pizza Express; in 2015 she became head of marketing for a Scottish property firm that went on to become Scotland’s largest estate agent.

In local media, Patrick Paton says: “Instead of a shop window, we will provide enhanced online marketing, which makes perfect sense when 95 per cent of home buyers start their house search online.

“A year ago, we might have been looking for office premises, but recent events have highlighted the possibilities of working from home and using technology more effectively to allow a better work-life balance.

“With two young sons, we know how important that is, which is why we understand clients who are searching for a particular lifestyle as much as a new house.”
