Two leading agencies and an agent network have signed up to the UK’s first dedicated portal for those finding, researching, buying or selling land.
Savills, Bidwells and the Land and New Homes Network are on board with Addland, a new platform which will be free until August for agents who sign up in the near term.
The platform will list commercial, residential and agricultural land from self-build plots to large development sites.
Founder Thomas McAlpine - of the McAlpine developer and construction empire - says the platform will include information not previously found in one place such as flood zones, public rights of way or ancient woodland, boundary maps and terrain levels.
The data comes from Ordnance Survey, Land Registry and government sites and is available remotely to allow access when users are in the field assessing potential sites.
“We’re building a generational business with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Our platform offers a single destination that brings land to life; an aggregation of existing industry subscriptions, an entire end-to-end back office service, and all the research tools needed to undertake complete due diligence” explains McAlpine.
“Digitalising the whole process this way means we can create both time and financial efficiencies for our customers, making it easier to find, research, buy or sell land.
“The feedback we have had so far has been hugely positive, and already we have over 50 businesses. I look forward to welcoming others over the following weeks” he adds.
McAlpine’s team includes head of product Hannah Parker who has previously worked for Zoopla and Hometrack, and head of sales and customer success Sinead Hatter, who joins from Rightmove.
