Agency offices in Wales to open again from next week

Estate agency offices in Wales, closed for many weeks as part of that country’s lockdown, will reopen from next Monday, April 12.

The Welsh Government emphasises, however, that agents must exercise caution, have appointment processes in operation, and undertake virtual viewings wherever possible.

Associated activities, for example, removals processes, property preparation, handover of keys, surveys and valuations can also take place in line with existing Welsh Government guidelines.

In the private rental sector, bailiff-enforced evictions are still suspended.

A ban on travel into Wales from outside the country will be lifted but the ban on international travel remains with travel only permitted from other UK nations as well as the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, and the Republic of Ireland.

Wales follows a similar but not identical roadmap out of lockdown to that operating in England.

In Wales from April 26, outdoor attractions including funfairs and theme parks can reopen, and outdoor hospitality can resume including at cafes, pubs and restaurants. Indoor hospitality will remain restricted.

From May 3 organised outdoor activities for up to 30 people can again take place, as can weddings and receptions - again up to 30 people and only outdoors.

From May 10, Wales’ gyms, leisure centres and fitness facilities can reopen. Two households can meet and have contact indoors.
