Agency investigating Nazi swastika appearing on property details

An estate agency is investigating how a swastika appeared in a photograph accompanying property details about a house on sale.

The Grantham branch of Newton Fallowell has removed the photograph which showed a room in a home for sale at Hough-on-the-Hill.

The room had a number of flags on display, including the Nazi symbol and a Union Jack.

The agency told the local media: “We do not have a set policy for circumstances such as this, but as a general rule if any property image we publish has the potential to cause offence we will temporarily withdraw it pending investigation. We have been made aware of such an incident and an investigation is in hand.”

The Grantham Journal was told by a reader who spotted the Nazi flag that it was objectionable and that such photos should be filtered out by agents before they are put on their sites.

Poll: Should agents remove potentially-offensive photographs from property details?
