Shock resignation of NAEA President after bout of ill health

NAEA Propertymark President Kirsty Finney has quit just six months into her year in office.

An email was sent to the association's members over the weekend saying: “Kirsty Finney will no longer be acting in the role of President of NAEA Propertymark. We are pleased that the current presidential team will be stepping up to ensure stability and a clear voice for members: Liana Loporto as President Elect, Stephen McCarron as Vice President supported by former presidents Lauren Scott and Katie Griffin.”

An NAEA Propertymark spokesperson told EAT over the weekend that Finney "took some time out" before Christmas "stating ill health" and had now stood down permanently.

Finney was co-founder of Rodgers & Finney agency in Northern Ireland; however, there is now no reference to her on the 'Our Team' section of the agency's website and records at Companies House suggest she resigned as a director earlier this month.

Finney had some 12 years experience in the industry, and won the Belfast Telegraph/Property News Young Agent of the Year Award in 2017.

She was the Northern Ireland regional representative of the NAEA and took up the president’s role last September.

Something a little fishy about this.....

Burying the new?. Not surprising from the body I have been a member of since 1984 who did not come out once and take our corner in the fight against RM. Even @ThePropertyOmbudsman apologised to me for getting RM to sponsor a webinar last year. And who reads their weekend send outs anyway?
