Agents Do Charity - the Christmas Eve edition…

We’re here - it’s Christmas. And as agents clock off for a well earned break, they can do so with a warm feeling of good work being done throughout the year.

It hasn’t stopped for Christmas - in fact it’s picked up speed.

So thank you to every agent who has sent in material to ADC throughout 2021 - here’s to a successful and safe 2022.

The Open Door Charity/The Vineyard Church: The excellent Ashtons agency in beautiful St Albans had to cancel its staff festive feast because of Covid, but there was a silver lining - the 100 meals were donated to the local vulnerable and homeless, distributed by the two fantastic charities.

And the agency says: “Ashtons are delighted to see the food go to such a wonderful cause at this time of year. A huge thank you to everyone involved, it was a fantastic team effort, and we do hope the food was enjoyed by all.”

In early 2022, Ashtons will be donating a further £10,000 to local charities as part of its For Life’s Great Causes initiative. Visit www.lifesgreatcauses.co.uk for more information.

National Deaf Children’s Society: Convey Law has donated £1,000 to this fine charity after it was nominated for help by a member of staff who lost her own hearing after suffering meningitis.

It has also donated a further £3,000 to charity in the last month bringing to over £90,000 the amount the leading conveyancing practice and its charitable arm, The Conveyancing Foundation, have helped to raise for charity in 2021.

Convey Law is one of a growing number of companies raising funds for charity through The Conveyancing Foundation’s Charity Lotto where clients of any legal practice or property company can donate a voluntary £10 at the end of their transaction, giving them a chance to win £500 in a monthly draw.

Local Worcestershire Good Causes: Scores of charities, schools and local groups have received donations totalling more than £12,000 from a community fund launched by Worcestershire agent Nicol & Co.

It launched the scheme in March 2021 by pledging £100 to the seller’s choice of community group for every property sale it handles. The agency is to continue the idea in 2022.

Matt Nicol, managing director, says: “Being rooted in the community has always been part of our culture at Nicol & Co, and we were determined to continue showing that in a more regular and meaningful way. We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response from both customers and local groups who all love the idea that every sale equals something good happening in the community.”
