Fast-growing London agents make strategic acquisitions

Two London agencies have announced acquisitions as consolidation in the capital continues apace.

Dexters has six new branches after the acquisition of rivals Peter James and Sebastian Roche, both based in south London; these will be partnerships and will continue to operate under their own brands.

Peter James has offices in Blackheath, Lee, New Cross and Brockley whilst Sebastian Roche has offices in Forest Hill and Lewisham.

In February Dexters announced a £13m deal with the Oakley Capital IV fund which will see 10 new branches a year. It says this will help make it bigger than rivals in the capital such as Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward.

Dexters also recently acquired long-standing independent agency, Roy Brooks, with two offices in south London.

Meanwhile the Stirling Ackroyd Group has acquired the south east London sales and lettings agency Beresford Residential, and its three branches in Brixton, Camberwell, and West Norwood.

Stirling Ackroyd Group recently announced the consolidation of its lettings business to standardise processes and align all property activities under the same brand.

The group plans an increase in the revenue of agency branches above the current average of £1m per annum, as well as an increase in market share in 2022.

Bruce Evans, managing director of group operations, says: “The strategic acquisition of Beresford Residential alongside the three businesses we acquired earlier in the year, are great additions to Stirling Ackroyd and further cements our growing footprint in London and the South East. Each of the businesses is being integrated into our existing branch network and will operate under the Stirling Ackroyd brand as we continue to grow our revenue per branch.”

Stirling Ackroyd Group has made an average of four acquisitions per year since 2017 and says it has at least four more acquisitions planned in 2022.
