New high taste agency employs ‘guild of creatives and thinkers’

A new estate agency listing historic houses is to have “a select group of creatives and thinkers” that will assist in the style and taste it wishes to display.

Known as Inigo, and named after the 17th century architect Inigo Jones, the agency comes from the team behind the high-end style-conscious agency, The Modern House.

Just as The Modern House markets design-led properties, so Inigo will market historic properties across the country.

Founders of The Modern House and Inigo, Matt Gibberd and Albert Hill, say: “The Modern House was founded on the idea that good domestic design has a positive impact on our lives. Principles like space, light, craftsmanship and a connection to nature have a timelessness that transcends any particular period, and we’re excited about exploring these themes in a wider context.

“We both grew up in centuries-old houses, and have first-hand experience of the spatial and decorative quality of buildings from the Georgian era, in particular. Inigo is a logical extension to what we’re already doing, with shared core values, a strong editorial point of view and a personal approach to service. The market for period townhouses and village rectories is well-established, but we believe that there’s a requirement for a new estate agency with modern marketing methods and genuine brand integrity.”

The ‘creatives and thinkers’ will be collectively known as The Guild and consist of fashion designer Charlie Casey-Hayford, former Vogue editor Lucinda Chambers, and Duncan Campbell of design studio Campbell Rey.

A statement from the new agency is appropriately style-conscious and says: “Inigo believes that a beautiful home is a pleasure that never ages and connects discerning individuals with extraordinary spaces, no matter the price or provenance. Inigo’s team combines proven experience selling distinctive homes with a passion for the beauty of historic architectural styles, and offers its services to urban and rural locations across Britain.”

The company says to unlock the true value of every home Inigo represents, the agency will tell each listing’s story through in-depth features and magazine-quality photography.

“Inigo adopts the ethics and fundamental principles that have formed the backbone to The Modern House’s success. The Modern House has established a reputation as the estate agent of choice for those who place great importance on design and elevated service, and these same principles are the pillars on which Inigo operates” it adds.
