The Guild of Property Professionals says that in the past quarter it has had its highest number of new joiners on record - 100 applicants, from which 40 have been chosen to become members.
“As we provide our members with exclusivity in their area and have certain criteria [they] need to uphold, not every application will result in a new member” says chief executive Iain McKenzie.
“During lockdown we had a lot of interest from estate agents who wanted virtual tools and ways to cut down on the costs of running their agency” he adds.
McKenzie says many are single branch agencies which cannot secure the deals larger independents or corporates can leverage.
“The Guild is able to negotiate deals with suppliers that will help [such] members save on their monthly costs and provide them with an invaluable toolbox of products and services that they may not be able to afford as a single, small business” he says.
The Guild of Property Professionals has launched its new industry-facing website, which includes a cost calculator.
