Rightmove and OnTheMarket have revealed their latest bids to keep agent support.
Rightmove is launching an extensive redesign of property details pages, after working with agents on the aspects they would most like to see highlighted.
The new look pages started rolling out on the Overseas section of the site in May and will begin testing on UK lettings properties from next week.
Properties for sale will follow later this year.
Rightmove claims that earlyresults from the Overseas launch shows home-hunters are spending longer looking at the pages, engaging more with video, sending more enquiries and sharing more properties thanks to the new Whatsapp option.
The new look pages are 40 per cent faster than the previous pages and have been designed to increase exposure for agents’ branding and contact details, plus make more of the most popular features that home-hunters engage with.
- images, video and floor plans taking higher priority than before, with videos now added to the image carousel so they are more integrated and easier to find;
- easier way for home-hunters to switch between images and floorplans;
- the agent contact details box following the home-hunter down the page so they can quickly send an enquiry and see agent branding more often, plus agent contact details have also been added to the image and floor plan galleries.
Meanwhile OnTheMarket claims to have set new records with the number of leads delivered to advertisers.
In July the portal generated more than 2m leads, an 11 per cent increase from June, with an average of 148 per advertiser.
Visits also exceeded 27m for the month, compared to 25m in June.
Clive Beattie, acting chief executive says: "We are very pleased to have achieved the second month in a row for record leads and to see such strong levels of traffic. As consumer awareness of, and engagement with, OnTheMarket continues to grow, our performance goes from strength to strength.
“Two million leads within one month represents an exciting milestone for our agent owners and should encourage all agents to now fully support OnTheMarket. Never has there been a more important time for agents to work together to improve competition, innovation and customer service within the industry.
“As more agents support OnTheMarket and become shareholders, our performance and value for our agent shareholders, who have a 65 per cent majority ownership of the portal, will only grow stronger.”
