A digital resource hub for estate agents claims to shorten transaction times. Sort Move, which has been operating since late 2019, makes the claim in a promotional video.

The hub acts as a sort of one-stop-shop at which agents or their clients can obtain conveyancing services, EPCs, specialist property reports and surveys.

One specific product - Fast-Start - is claimed by Sort Move to be a secure online portal with digital protocol forms, biometric ID and digital signatures. “This new proposition is designed to reduce the time to legal exchange by weeks and give better assurances around pipeline conversion” the firm says.

It continues: “Agents and their clients want a seamless journey from the moment an agency agreement is signed. An experience that offers a balanced blend of innovative technology and central support to allow them to move forward no matter where or when.

“We are not ‘disrupting’ or ‘changing the game’, we are simply providing a new platform for our agent networks as we have listened to what they want.”

Estate Agent Today asked how the products achieved faster transaction times, and how much they were reduced by.

A SortMove spokeswoman told EAT: “With our ‘Sale Only’ service (for sellers with no forward chain), we have an agreement with our exclusive suppliers to achieve exchange within an average of 28 days (once contracts have been issued and there is no buyer chain).

“With our Fast Start proposition (where the seller is converted at listing stage and completes our onboarding in good time), our aim is to reduce the average pipeline turn to three months.”

Sort Move - created by Sort Ltd, which works in the mortgage intermediary market - describes itself as “a digital portal specifically with estate agents and their clients in mind.”

It says its products "add value to the customer journey and provide another income stream for the agent, through fair and transparent referral fees. These products are backed up by a hand-picked panel of quality conveyancers, seamless partner integrations and a support team of home move advisers.”
