Agents Do Charity - the first edition of summer 2020…

Now that it’s June it’s officially summer (as if we didn’t realise that from the sudden drop in temperatures). With good weather comes more fund-raising, even in these difficult times.

We’d love to share your fundraising work with the industry - please do drop us a line at press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll do the rest.

Thank you, out with the Factor 10, and on to this week’s good work…

Maggie’s at The Royal Marsden: Henley Homes in Sutton has donated £240 to Maggie’s at The Royal Marsden, enabling it to provide eight hours of free counselling for people living with and after cancer.

Maggie’s at The Royal Marsden provides free cancer support for people with cancer and their family and friends, further enhancing The Royal Marsden’s world-leading treatment and care. Maggie's is a charity supporting people with cancer in centres across the UK and online.

A Henley Homes representative, explains what prompted them to donate. "We're a local business, and during the Covid‐19 outbreak, we wanted to do something for our community.

"We were made aware of the great work the people at Maggie's do by a friend of ours, and we love the idea our small donation could have a big positive impact on someone having to battle cancer by giving free hourly sessions from a trained counsellor.

"Looking after our mental health is vitally important, especially in difficult times."

The initial donation of £120 was match funded by the Karma Club, the charitable arm of industry supplier, the Estate Agent Content Club.

Bryn Thomas, Centre Head at Maggie’s at The Royal Marsden says: "Thanks to the team at Henley Homes and to the Estate Agent Content Club. We are so grateful that they thought of Maggie's. Their donation towards our counselling service will benefit people living with cancer who are really struggling at this time."

Northamptonshire Health Charity: The Jackson Grundy estate agency is hoping to raise £10,000 by the end of June, by donating £100 for every property it puts on to the market.

Northamptonshire Health Charity wants to be able to provide: food packages for the frontline staff and the teams of people who run hospitals; tablets for patients to have the chance of seeing the faces of their loved ones at a time they need familiarity, love and support but no visitors are allowed at this time; and basic need packs for frontline staff using alternative accommodation near the hospital because they cannot go home.

Here is the agency’s Just Giving page.
