Mental health warning to agents as lockdown eases

There’s a warning today to agency chiefs to keep in touch with their staff as lockdown eases across England in a bid to reduce mental stress.

Joshua Rayner, who runs estate agency-focussed recruitment company Rayner Personnel, tells Estate Agent Today in a video that he fears the mental stress for those furloughed staff could new more damaging for many people than Covid-19 itself.

He says this particularly applies to agents operating remotely from their offices and teams, who may become uncertain about their future jobs and regular income.

Rayner, in an interview for EAT with Chris Buckler, also advises individuals who have used the lockdown to reassess their careers to make themselves “job ready” while they still have time.

He says this should involve them updating their CVs and their Facebook profiles - “make sure you’re ahead of the curve” he advises.

You can see the interview below.
