Agents Do Charity - from Christmas parties to Christmas carols

We’re just a few days from December so why not get into the festive spirit a little early and get some yuletide fund-raising underway?

That’s what several of our contributors this week have done. If you’re doing the same, please let us know on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll spread the good cheer.

Now, is your sleigh ready?

Christmas Party Heroes: The Landmark Group has told us about Christmas Party heroes, a campaign urging firms to donate their unused party budgets to charities that have been hit by funding shortages this year.

Most charities have seen their entire events season wiped out for 2020, with cancellations of Britain’s largest organised fundraising events such as Cancer Research’s Race for Life and the Memory Walk hosted by the Alzheimer’s Society.

Xmas Party Heroes has so far raised approaching £1m in less than a week.

Companies that have already pledged money to charities include Landmark Group, Timpson, Masthaven Bank, Property Alliance Group, Urban Splash, FK Group and Barratt Developments - and the number is growing.

Agents Giving: A final reminder that everyone can watch this live charity auction online next Friday, December 4, with winners announced by patron Phil Spencer.

Following the conclusion of the event, attendees are invited to join in the fun of the Afterparty, sponsored by Simply Conveyancing Property Lawyers and featuring Unity DAB and DJ Ross Harvey.

YMCA Lincolnshire:  Fine and Country Lincolnshire and Grantham have worked closely with the YMCA Lincolnshire for over two years and are sponsoring the food costs for all the homeless residents at the YMCA Nomad Centre during the 12 Days of Christmas.

F&C tell us: “It costs £5.50 per day for the centre to provide three meals to a resident so if any individuals or businesses are in the fortunate position at this challenging time to be able to help Give the Gift of Food it would be so incredibly kind if you could pledge a meal or more via our Just Giving page.

“We appreciate not everyone is in a position to donate so we are also asking for your help to Give the Gift of Comfort. If you could spare a moment to write some words of comfort and hope to a resident of the Nomad Centre we would be so very grateful.”

“You can email a message to lincoln@fineandcountry.com or post a message or card to Fine and Country, 55 High Street, Navenby, Lincoln, LN5 0DZ - every message will be printed out and given directly to the residents this Christmas.”

Or you can donate here.

Fine & Country Foundation: The Fine & Country Foundation is having a virtual Christmas carol service for the agency industry, featuring three choirs - one from South Africa and two from the UK.

The foundation announced that it has reached the milestone of raising over half a million pounds in funds, supporting the work of 78 non-profit organisations, all fighting causes of homelessness and poverty around the world.

The event is on December 20 and here’s epropservices chief executive Jon Cooke with a video about it.
