Agents Do Charity - and an early mention of …. Christmas

Hello and welcome to the end of the week - Friday means charity day, with an update on our industry’s latest fund-raising exploits.

We have a first mention of Christmas this week, so if your office, branch or even an individual might be doing special festive fund-raising, please let us know on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll give you a Yuletide-flavoured mention.

Now, here we go…

Fine & Country Foundation: The Fine & Country Foundation is having a virtual Christmas carol service for the agency industry, featuring three choirs - one from South Africa and two from the UK.

The event is on December 20 so make space in your diary now! More details coming shortly.

The foundation announced that it has reached the milestone of raising over half a million pounds in funds, supporting the work of 78 non-profit organisations, all fighting causes of homelessness and poverty around the world.

McCarthy & Stone Charitable Foundation: This developer, one of the country’s best known retirement specialists, has created a foundation to deliver a grants programme, longer-term charity partnerships and volunteering opportunities.

Each programme will be designed to deliver a range of impacts that will strengthen communities, support local charities and organisations with resource and expertise, and provide a voice to champion the role of older people in a thriving society.

John Tonkiss, the company’s chief executive and a trustee of the new foundation, says: “Covid-19 has shown that there are real challenges to overcome within local communities and sadly the most vulnerable in our society are often older people and the young.

“We are therefore delighted to be able to launch the McCarthy & Stone Foundation to help bring generations together, do more to support the lives of older people and support regeneration. We look forward to working together with our employees, partners and homeowners to have an important and lasting impact on people experiencing challenges around the country.”

The application window for grants will be confirmed in due course.

Agents Giving Acts Of Kindness Live Auction: There’s been a lot of attention for this great event, at 4pm on Friday December 4, and the industry’s charity is now showcasing on its website the items to be auctioned - you can see them here.

You can pre-bid ahead of the event itself, for lots including: Cottage in the Cotswolds, Palmer Sport Track Day, FA Cup Semi Final Tickets, Business Consultations, Designer Sofa, Tickets for Wicked The Musical, 4 Ball at Woburn Golf Club, Spa Day for four at Chewton Glen Hotel, Dinner and an overnight stay at the Birtch Hotel plus more.

You can place your silent bids on the website here.

Michael Stoop, chairman of Agents Giving, comments: “We are very grateful to our charity partners at Iam Sold, the team will be on hand to help take live bids on the afternoon of the awards to help raise funds for Agents Giving. You can also place bids now on your favourite auction items via our website - thank you for your support.”

The event will be available to watch live for a suggested donation of £10 per person, which will go to NHS Charities Together. One lucky winner will receive a £200 Amazon voucher kindly donated by TouchRight Software.
