Purplebricks goes for Gold with massive marketing campaign

Purplebricks today launches its media campaign as ‘The Official Estate Agent of Team GB’ for this summer’s Olympic Games.

Today’s PR onslaught is believed to feature four-time cycling Olympic gold medallist Laura Kenny and Olympic bronze medallist and triple World Taekwondo champion Bianca Walkden.

Reports in the marketing trade press say the advertising - across TV, radio and online ~ will feature ‘Purplebricks Alice’ drawing parallels between her work selling a house and the efforts of Team GB athletes at the Tokyo Games.

The campaign, produced by MindsEye, also includes diving Olympic bronze medallist Dan Goodfellow and Moe Sbihi, Olympic gold and bronze medallist in rowing.

The estate agency’s chief marketing officer Ed Hughes has told Inside The Games website: 

"Purplebricks is famous for its honest take on the world of estate agency with an added twist of humour. And we saw no reason to stop when it came to our sponsorship of Team GB.

"This is our biggest campaign so far and underlines the passion and commitment of our people to being the leading property experts in all corners of the nation - even if that advice can't quite take you to the podium in Tokyo."

Team GB commercial director Tim Ellerton tells the website that the agency aligns with their sporting values.

"The Purplebricks campaign really complements the ambition of what we need and what we strive to achieve in the run-up to the Games - and that's for the nation to get behind the athletes” Ellerton says.

"For our team to know they have home support makes such a difference. The fun that Purplebricks have created in association with our athletes will undoubtedly cement that message over the coming months."
