Property Jobs Today - the very latest industry movers and shakers

Welcome to the first February PJT. As the year progresses the industry embarks on more appointments, especially with a market that’s been ignited in recent weeks.

Let us know who’s moving where: press@estateagenttoday.co.uk is the address for news to be sent to us. Thanks!

First off the blocks this week is Knight Frank which has relocated its Esher office to a new address on the high street.

And after three years as the agency’s Weybridge office head, Adam Burlison is returning to Esher where he began his career.

“The move is an exciting opportunity for Knight Frank to showcase our modern premises that moves away from the traditional look of an estate agents office" explains Adam.

"Returning to Esher 23 years after I started my agency career in the town is a brilliant challenge and I’m looking forward to helping old and new clients with their moves.”

To the capital now, where Chestertons has started the year by promoting Adam Jennings to regional lettings director for South West London.

Adam joined Chestertons in 2015 to manage its then-new Wandsworth branch; he then moved to central London to manage the Chelsea lettings office before being promoted to area director, taking on management of Parsons Green and Fulham Road lettings offices.

He’ll now oversee 10 South West London branches and says: “I’ve been at the company for nearly five years and have been working towards this since I joined – it’s my dream job. The South West [of London] is an area I know well and I cannot wait to get stuck in and start working alongside the talented teams we have in the region.”

-

Next to Oxfordshire where, as you may have seen elsewhere on Estate Agent Today, the former Savills country house lettings director Tanya Blake is going to be the operating principal of the new Keller Williams market centre, which is to be known as KW Oxygen.

“I’m incredibly excited to be opening a market centre in Oxfordshire but what excites me most is the ethos of the company. I’m looking forward to helping agents change their lives by using the systems and models Keller Williams have in place” Tanya says.

“I really believe there’s a demand for this opportunity within our industry and I’m keen to share it with agents who want to build a career worth having."

"The culture and support has been incredible and joining them was an easy decision to make” she adds.

We’re off to Cambridge now, where Gavin Human has joined the historic Hockeys agency as associate partner, having previously worked for Fine & Country and TuckerGardner in the city.

He says: “I’m really excited about joining the Hockeys team, and helping them increase their name and brand awareness across Cambridgeshire."

"I've been an estate agent for more than 35 years and I really like the fact that Hockeys is an independent agent, totally focused on finding the best buyer for their clients and achieving the maximum price possible.”

In Scotland there’s appointment news too, with Edinburgh lettings specialist Cullen Property appointing Mhairi Juska and Anthony Brown to its growing team of contracts and property managers.

Both Mhairi and Anthony join as contracts managers.

Within an internal structure unique to Cullen Property, both will be working hand in hand with a dedicated property manager in a two-person team, servicing specific client property accounts.

Cullen’s managing director Steve Coyle says: “Mhairi has a vast amount of experience in business management, whilst Anthony has worked extensively in compliance management, both of which are areas that are key to Cullen Property’s future.”

Let’s look now at Rentify, the tech-enabled lettings and management agency - it’s swooped to get two former Knight Frank partners and a property manager from the agency on board to start 2020 in flying form.

Giles Barrett has joined as sales director; he brings 20 years of experience with London’s property market to the role. Matthew Hahn has also joined as sales director - he recently ran one of KF’s south west London offices.

Also joining Rentify from Knight Frank is Andrew Osborne, who is to be senior property manager with responsibility for clients with multi-unit portfolios.

Rentify now has a team of over 20 people and says it has “aggressive plans” for growth this year and beyond.

Property Jobs Today - the very latest industry movers and shakersAnd finally - well, not an appointment, but an anniversary. Word has reached EAT that David Woodfield, a sales director of East Midlands’ firm Andrew Granger & Co, has celebrated 25 years with the company.

January 1995 saw Andrew Granger & Co open its first office outside Market Harborough to expand the business.

“I opened the office on Wards End with just one other member of staff where we predominantly dealt with property sales and then adding property lettings and a rural team a little later before moving to our current High Street office as business grew” explains David.

“Estate agency and the profession in general has changed so much during the 25 years from totally manual systems when we first started to now having software systems to record and monitor everything we do - the internet, communication, marketing and of course mobile phones”.

And he adds: “I have both worked with and met some fabulous people along the way which I think has certainly made it all worthwhile and I’m very lucky to have such loyal and committed staff with me now.”

Congratulations to David!
