We start this week with the hub-based London agency Harding Green which has a pool of self-employed agents - and the latest to join is Edward McCulloch.

He joins Harding Green from Douglas & Gordon where he initially headed up their Kensington office, followed by four and a half years running their Chelsea branch.

Prior to this, Edward spent 10 years at John D Wood primarily in Chelsea, where he was also responsible for starting a ‘flat’ sales team in Fulham. His career credentials also include Hamptons, Texaco and MAS.

“I knew that I needed to leave the corporate model as I sought more control over the sales process, and I wanted to give a much more individual service to my clients” he says about his new post.

Quitting corporate life, too, is experienced country house agent Tom Woods who has joined BCM Rural Property Specialists to lead a strengthened residential sales and lettings department.

Tom, a graduate in rural land management from the Royal Agricultural University at Cirencester, joined national property agency Knight Frank at its Winchester office straight from his studies and remained there for the last 15 years.

“Hampshire is an area I know well, having been born in Winchester and raised in the north of the county,” explains Tom. “It has some very exciting country houses and larger properties, many of which are homes that will never be on the sales market but which are very appealing in the residential lettings arena, particularly where they are within the catchments of or close to the many impressive schools with which the county is blessed” he says.

Back to London where David Ronson has joined development company Avanton as director of sales and marketing.

With over 10 years of experience within the London property sector, David has been employed by Avanton to oversee the sales and marketing strategy for their flagship residential scheme Coda in Battersea providing 130 new homes plus and three pipeline schemes, the 1,152-home mixed-use Ruby Triangle development on the Old Kent Road, the 39-unit Battersea Square scheme and a four-acre project in Richmond.

David began his career at Heron International working as the completions manager; he then moved to Savills head office to work within the in-house residential development sales team.

Still in London, Cluttons has appointed Chris Jakes as head of lease advisory and compulsory purchase.

Previously at CBRE and Kinney Green, Chris is a RICS Registered valuer who brings a wealth of experience in advising both landlord and tenants on rent review and lease renewal negotiations across all sectors throughout the UK and will provide clients with a range of lease advisory services.

Meanwhile in Scotland MOV8 Real Estate, an agency and solicitors firm, has appointed Tracy McAlpine as head of new build.

Tracy brings several years of experience of specialising in new build conveyancing work and has developed strong relationships with the country’s leading homebuilders.

The move coincides with MOV8 opening its new Glasgow office in Glasgow city centre.

Finally this week, one of the higher profile mortgage firms - Just Mortgages - has appointed three new divisional sales directors.

Peter Kendall, Mike Peet and Tony Richards will be responsible for more than 30 mortgage and protection advisers across the Just Mortgages group. They will support and advise their teams, helping them to achieve their individual goals by identifying leads, increasing cross-sales and developing and reviewing their training needs.

John Phillips, group operations director at Just Mortgages and Spicerhaart adds: “Tony, Pete, and Mike bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the team and all have a genuine passion for what they do; their appointments are a huge asset to Just Mortgages and will be instrumental in the continued growth of the company.”

That’s it for this week - have a good one and see you next Monday. Until then…
