It now lists over 800 developments and carries over 8,000 reviews currently - the site says 87 per cent are independently verified.

It invites residents to rate a number of aspects of their development including the facilities, design, value, location and management. HomeViews verifies resident reviews using technological and manual methods and every review is read and checked by the HomeViews team.

"We administer the verification process centrally and have teams on the ground at developments in the major cities across the UK educating residents as to how the site works with the aim of sharing honest feedback and insights, much like Tripadvisor” explains Hannah Marsh, a co-founder.

“Issues with poor management and building maintenance with unresponsive or slow customer service teams come up consistently in our lower rated developments. In general, most residents are reasonable when it comes to things breaking - as long as they are communicated to regularly.”
