Unless you were on a very remote holiday last week you’ll know that the Boris Johnson Cabinet and ministerial reshuffle has produced major changes to the line-up at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

The new Secretary of State is Robert Jenrick, taking over from James Brokenshire.

The new housing minister is high-profile Brexiteer and one-time Cabinet minister Esther McVey and alongside her is Jake Berry, with responsibilities for the Northern Powerhouse and local growth: they replace Kit Malthouse and Heather Wheeler.

We’ll be hearing a lot more from the new ministers in the near future.

Now on to agencies, and Leaders Romans has established a new dedicated Shared Ownership team.

It’s to be led by new recruit Adrian Plant, who brings with him 32 years’ experience in the property industry, covering residential sales, Shared Ownership and New Homes. He’ll work closely with the agency’s long-established and successful teams in Land, New Homes, Corporate Sales and Residential Sales.

There’s a new face, too, at Love2move - this is the Lancashire-based online platform that enables high street estate agents to compete against the internet-only services.

Rachael Worrall has joined the business full-time as marketing director, confirming this as a family affair as her husband Mark set up the business with his mother Georgina Cox in 2017.

“Mark and Georgina have been the force behind love2move since we came up with the concept and I have loved supporting the development of the marketing & technology behind the scenes. I’m delighted we are now in a position to take the business to the next stage of development; this is the perfect time for me to join love2move on a permanent basis” explains Rachael.

Now to London where premium buying agency Aykroyd & Co, which launched under 18 months ago, has now expanded into property management.

To head up the new team, the firm has employed Natasha Willis, who worked for nearly five years at Savills managing its Belgravia and Chelsea portfolio.

“I’m incredibly excited to be making this move”, says Natasha. “I felt an immediate affinity with the culture at Aykroyd & Co because I share their core values of professionalism, integrity and with a full team approach to ensure every client receives exceptional service 24/7. It felt like a natural fit.”

There’s expansion, too, for rural property specialist BCM which is extending its activities from its Hampshire base across the M4 corridor to serve Berkshire and Oxfordshire via a new office at Ipsden.

Property Jobs Today - we reveal who’s in and who’s outIt will be run by Tom Bishop, who is also director of a business managing and farming over 6,500 acres of arable land split between Berkshire and south Oxfordshire.

“I am the fourth generation of my family to farm here and I’m keen for the area’s agriculture to prosper. With Brexit still not settled, times ahead could be tough and sharing expertise, especially with what I discovered about farming without subsidy support in New Zealand, will hopefully bring benefits” explains Tom.
