Over 12 agencies named as latest members of independents’ group

The fledgling Federation of Independent Agents has revealed a list of agents which have joined the scheme.

The very latest is Oakwood Homes, a multi-branch agency based in Kent.

“We are very excited to have been invited to join as a member and look forward to working closely with other like minded agents across the UK to form a collaborative alliance that people can trust with the grounded support FIA will bring” explains Andrew Dickinson, Oakwood’s managing director.

The FIA, which charges agents £295 plus VAT per branch per month, is a member-only organisation with the objectives of giving independents the scale and quality of supplier access that is often reserved for bulk-buying corporates.

Other members revealed by the association include Thorgills, Reyland Johnson, Deakin-White, Shaws Kensington, Right Now Residential, Alexander May, Harrisons Residential, Maurice Kilbride, Quarters Residential, Zenko Properties, Charles David Casson and Fuchsia Homes.

“We continue to on-board high quality estate agents; this glimpse into some of our recent additions shows the type of agents that we’re attracting. It’s not for everyone and we’ve had to turn away many applications that fall short of our standards. We want like-minded agents to collaborate, share and to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack” says Graham Lock who founded the FIA in May.

“At a time when the market has got tough - really tough for some - we are attracting member agents that see this as a rare opportunity to grab more market-share in an environment that’s been saturated with average performing agents and subdued by low transaction numbers in recent years” continues Lock.

“Those average agents are currently on their knees and sadly risk going out of business but it’s the perfect environment for FIA members to grow their businesses and pull away from the pack, in a few years’ time they will be extremely strong and perfectly placed to benefit from any uplift in sales volumes.”
